Ural gallery of Modern art participates traditionally in Long Night of Museums, organized by Yekaterinburg Culture Department since 2007.
Projects for Long Night of Museums 2015:
Exhibition “Post-war world view” which consists of the paintings from the gallery fund. “Post-war world view” is considered as generalized picture of happy peaceful life, rebuilt after destructive actions of World War II. The exhibition consists of paintings of the late 1940s and the early 1960s presenting image of peace-time, poetic landscape and picturesque still-life.
Also visitors can see Lauren Pernot video-installations “Dreams-fantasies”.
The gallery presents illustrations for “Anna Karenina” by Leo Tolstoy during Long Night of Museums. An illustrator N. Piskaryov created colour prints engraved from two plates for this novel that became classical for Soviet graphic art.
In 1977 “Anna Karenina” artworks were printed from original plates. All illustrations were designed according to the Limited Edition Club of New York commission. The album was donated to the gallery by Nikolay Piskaryov’s granddaughter.
