A key figure of Sverdlovsk art world, honored painter of Russia, monumental artist, graphic, sculptor, jeweler, laureate of Mosin Prize. He was awarded the Prize of the governor of Sverdlovsk region for the series of paintings “Mythological and biblical cycle”. He also cooperated with theatre and cinema. German Metelev graduated from Sverdlovsk Art School in 1957. He completed his education in arts in 1963 in Leningrad Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture named after I.E. Repin. In 1964-1966 German Metelev worked in the art studio under the tutelage of V.M. Oreshnikov. Since 1964 he is an active participant in more than 150 national and international exhibitions. His works are housed in many Russian museums, private collections.
