An outstanding Urals painter, graphic artist, honored painter of Russia, one of the most important figures of Yekaterinburg art world of the 2nd half of XX century. Student of Sverdlovsk Art School in 1946-1951. Graduate of Leningrad Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture named after I.E. Repin (1951-1957). His diploma work “Stone flower” inspired by the story by P.P. Bazhov was acquired for Academic museum in Leningrad. He came back to the Urals and made his debut during Sverdlovsk regional art show in 1959 with the huge canvas “Funerals of the Revolution’s Victims”. It was the first big epic painting in the story of the Urals art school. In 1960-th together with Misha Brusilovskiy he created the big painting “1918” which provoked deep resonance among public and art critics in Russia and abroad. This canvas participated in many exhibitions all over the world and actually housed in Volgograd state museum of fine arts.
