Honored painter of Russia, an outstanding landscape artist. He studied at Krasnoufimsk pedagogical college together with V. Kopyrkin. In 1941 he was called to the soviet army, he finished Chelyabinsk aircraft and military school of marksmen and bombardiers. Since 1942 he fought on South, North-Caucasus fronts and Kuban in the position of sergeant, was wounded and after recovery in 1944 he was pointed to the aircraft unit in Iran. He was demobilized in 1945. Evgeniy Gudin was awarded the order of Patriotic War of the 2nd degree, the medals “For Services in Battle”, “For the Defense of Caucasus”, “For the Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945”. He studied in Sverdlovsk Art School in 1947-1952. Regularly he was a delegate of many congresses of painters of Russia and conventions of painters of the USSR. An active participant in all important soviet art shows. The paintings by Evgeniy Gudin are housed in the State Tretyakov Gallery, many important Russian museums, and private collections worldwide.
