Bolotskikh Ivan Yegorovich

b.1933 - d. 2012

A gifted Urals landscape painter, honored painter of Russia, master of plein-air landscapes, extraordinary colorist. Student of O. Berngard and D. Kavalershin. A full member of the Union of Artists since 1976. He lived and worked on Baykal, in Tuva, Novorossiysk, Vladimir, Moldova where he painted a great number of wonderful landscapes. In Staraya Ladoga he met the famous painter Kim Britov who influenced the young artist very much. He got acquainted with B. Yakovlev, V. Meshkov, V. Stozharov and other eminent artists of the soviet period. Active and constant participant in exhibitions in Russia and abroad. By the order of BBC Ivan Bolotskich made a big panoramic canvas “Moscow on seven hills”. In his works we can see the combination of the best traditions of French postimpressionism and Russian avant-garde, very much different from soviet “classical” vision of a landscape. The paintings by Ivan Bolotskikh are housed in Russian museums, galleries, private collections worldwide.
